Veronica pointed out that the recruitment and talent acquisition industry is inherently human-centered, providing ample opportunities to glean valuable insights. Given that nearly everyone has encountered both perspectives in this dynamic, Veronica encourages the practice of seeking out and attentively absorbing the narratives of others. Knowing Veronica Boh

Veronica Boh, a Malaysian of Chinese heritage, spent the early years of her life in the UK, Germany, and Taiwan, returning to Malaysia at the age of five. She completed her primary education there, later pursuing her secondary education before relocating to the UK for further studies. Reflecting on her upbringing, Veronica acknowledges, “Looking back, it’s definitely an interesting backstory, and it’s most definitely the reason why I travel a lot.”
In addition to her role as the founder of Jobernality, Veronica is a notable figure in the Malaysian entertainment industry. She actively engages as a musical theater actress and curve model. Beyond her professional pursuits, Veronica’s deep-seated passion for diving drives her to embark on regular dive trips
Throughout her journey, Veronica has had the privilege of encountering numerous inspirational individuals. Among them, two friends she met during her time in Mexico in 2019 left an indelible mark. At a critical juncture when Veronica was grappling with a desire for a career change, they extended their support by lending a compassionate ear and offering invaluable advice. This experience provided Veronica with a multitude of fresh perspectives on her life.

Veronica's Journey: Advocacy, Justice, and Cultural Awareness

Malaysia has a unique brand of multiculturalism that is not only prevalent in society but also in politics. Growing up in such an environment, Veronica believes, has made her very aware of the power of language, understanding, and open-mindedness.
Veronica possesses a strong sense of justice and a complete aversion to passing judgment. She traces this inclination back to her own experiences of enduring bullying during her primary and secondary school years. In those formative times, Veronica was the unconventional child who felt like an outsider. This period of her life imbued in her a deep appreciation for kindness and the importance of embracing others. Upon reflection, Veronica recognizes that this is the driving force behind her commitment to championing employee rights and well-being. Witnessing any form of mistreatment is something she finds intolerable.
Motivated by a fervent aspiration to leave a positive imprint on the world, Veronica recalls the deliberation she undertook when choosing her field of study. She narrowed down her options to Psychology, Journalism, and Forensic Science. Eventually, she settled on Psychology and Criminology, only to later shift her focus to Politics. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, Veronica earned a partial scholarship to pursue her MSc in International Business.

Towards Jobernality

Veronica’s early career was marked by fortunate opportunities. She embarked on her professional journey as the inaugural team member in a pre-seed startup, swiftly ascending to the role of People Operations Manager within a year. In this capacity, she orchestrated the establishment of numerous remote teams spanning across the United States and Mexico. Subsequently, Veronica transitioned to a parallel role at a private bank, where she spearheaded the creation of the first Gig Workforce within the Malaysian banking sector. Through these experiences, she garnered extensive knowledge in HR processes and adeptly honed her skills in people management.
In her personal observation, Veronica noted a prevalent challenge: many talented individuals struggle to effectively market themselves as prospective candidates. She also recognized that traditional recruitment processes have become outdated, originally designed for a generation and circumstances vastly different from the present. Fueled by a determination to revolutionize the sluggish pace of innovation within the HR industry, Veronica made the pivotal decision to leave her position and embark on this transformative journey.

“Veronica faced a maelstrom of anxiety and difficulties during the early stages of landing a job. She found this time to be energizing rather than depressing. Important insights into their experiences were gained from meeting and interviewing a wide range of job searchers, HR managers, headhunters, recruiters, and disgruntled employees. Notably, Veronica found commonalities in the worldwide recruitment environment, which strengthened her resolve to develop a comprehensive solution that tackles these problems from both ends of the spectrum, starting at the beginning of the hiring process.”
